Project Description

The Project Manager will provide overall leadership and management of Women in Enterprise (WIS) Project in the design, coordination, implementation, monitoring and evaluation, reporting and marketing, guided by CARE policies.

He/she will be fully responsible for the smooth, cost effective, efficient and timely implementation of Women in Enterprise (WIS) project activities, including efficient management of staff and budget control. Represent CARE in all relevant forums. He/She reports to the Senior Program Manager.

 

Job Responsibility #1: Provide overall project management

Overall responsible and accountable to CARE for proper management and coordination of Women in Enterprise (WIS) program in accordance to CARE Policies and guidelines.Promote good stewardship and high accountability through efficient and economical utilization of resources in the project.Lead, motivate and ensure teamwork among WIS project staff for greater impact in the community.Supervise, liaise closely with and provide the necessary advice and support to program support in all matters pertaining to the effective management and implementation of WIS project activities.Ensure adequate monitoring and reporting of WIS project activities in accordance with CARE International’s humanitarian accountability framework, relevant SPHERE standards.Ensure all WIS project personnel understand and carry out their duties in accordance with humanitarian principles, core values, the Code of Conduct and SPHERE.Conduct performance appraisals of WIS staff if and as required, ensure regular feedback and mentoring on individual performance.Assure coordination and cooperation for maximizing synergy and learning with other CARE projects especially those working on VSLA, women and youth in Sierra Leone under the lead of the program coordinator for CARE in Sierra Leone.Ensure all stakeholders are kept informed about project plans, progress reports, and other significant developments.

Job Responsibility #2: Program Design, Planning, Coordination, Implementation, Monitoring and Reporting

Ensure timely project implementation according to the project description and its M&E plan as well as the Gender, Resilience and Governance indicators.Ensure profitability of promoted income generating activities in strong collaboration with the finance institutions and the agricultural and commercial/industrial advise from governmental structures as well as in cooperation with the private sector where applicable.Ensure high quality of coaching of the VSLA groups via catalyzers, VSLA agents, MADAM and WIE project staff by contribution to tools and assuring an efficient process.Ensure timely market assessments and price monitoring systems are set up conform to the project description, and conducted to inform current and future cash transfer programming, while mitigating negative effects on local markets;Support the innovation and new approaches on loan provision, loan management and payment systems in strong cooperation with Micro-finance institutions especially for IT tools like Apps for catalyzers, field agents and VSLA groups.Work closely with the MEAL Manager to support and provide technical inputs in the development of data collection tools such as baseline, CARE gender, CARE resilience and CARE governance indicators, project progress, post distribution monitoring and end-line assessment tools, including mobile data collection instruments. click on the link to apply https://careers.sl/job-post/30044-project-manager
